OSRS closes Summer Sweep Up with stackable Unsireds and four new magic amulets
Jagex shipped the last batch of Old School RuneScape's Summer Sweep Up on 2 September 2026, and its own changelog is mostly made of small mercies: stackable Unsireds, a lectern that remembers what you were making, inventory locking in the Seed Vault, and four new amulets for elemental casters.
The numbers worth writing down
| Change | Detail |
|---|---|
| Necklace of Fangs | +12 Ranged Accuracy, +1 Ranged Strength, 1 in 128 from Turoths and Spiked Turoths |
| Elemental jewels | 1 in 64 from Killerwatts, Sea Snake Hatchlings, Molanisks, Infernal Mages |
| Elemental amulets | +10 Magic Accuracy, +2 max hit, Runecraft 18 to 21 by element |
| Elemental amulet, combined | Runecraft 30, 500 runes of each element |
| Shark lures | 1 lure, 50% chance of 5 ticks becoming 4; 3 lures, always 4; 5 lures, always 4 with a 50% chance of 3 |
| Fishing Sacks | 500 Molch pearls reclaimable per extra sack, from Alry the Angler |
| Deadman attack floor | 100,000 risked in alch value, 500,000 near the chest, 1,000,000 to enter raids |
Our take: what it means for players
The Unsired fix is the model, and it is worth explaining because it shows the right way to solve this kind of problem.
Unsireds could not stack because each one carried its own pre-rolled reward. Rather than bolt on a storage exception, Jagex moved the roll to the Font of Consumption, so the item became identical to every other Unsired and stacked for free. That is a design fix rather than a convenience feature, and it costs the player nothing.
The same instinct runs through the rest: a lectern that remembers your last tablet, Ghommal's Lucky Penny working when consumed rather than worn, inventory locks in the Seed Vault, and Abyssal Lanterns storable in Magic Wardrobes, which the changelog credits to popular request. None of that is content. All of it is friction that existed for no reason, and removing friction is the cheapest respect a studio can pay to the people playing.
Deadman is the one that will start an argument, and we think Jagex has it right. Requiring 100,000 in alch value to attack anyone, 500,000 near the chest and a million to enter raids without protection means a player who risks nothing cannot farm players who risk everything. A permanent PvP mode where the attacker has skin in the game is the version worth having.
The one blemish is a promise rather than a change: the pet updates that would let pets follow you into the Gauntlet, Fossil Island's underwater area and various minigames did not make this batch, and are scheduled for the next two weeks.
What's next
The pet changes land within a fortnight by Jagex's own note, and the Phosani's Nightmare pillar health bar bug is due a coldfix next week. Nothing here is a dated event, so nothing new joins the calendar from this batch.
Common questions
Are Unsireds stackable in Old School RuneScape now?
Yes, in the bank. Jagex changed when the loot is rolled: instead of rolling at the moment the Abyssal Sire drops it, an Unsired now rolls its reward when used on the Font of Consumption. The protection against duplicate bludgeon pieces is unchanged.
How do I make the new elemental amulets?
Combine an Amulet of magic, the matching elemental jewel and 100 matching runes at that element's rune altar. Air needs 18 Runecraft, Water 19, Earth 20 and Fire 21. The combined Elemental amulet needs 30 Runecraft and 500 runes of each element, and can be made at any elemental altar.
How much do the elemental amulets add?
Each gives +10 Magic Accuracy and +2 to the maximum hit of its own element's spells. The combined Elemental amulet gives the same bonus across all four elements. The jewels drop at 1 in 64 from Killerwatts, Sea Snake Hatchlings, Molanisks and Infernal Mages.
